Nexus Studios has just announced that it will work with Magic Light Pictures and the Forestry Commission England to develop an augmented reality application based on the children's story book The Gruffalo.
"The Gruffalo Spotter" will present the role of this classic children's picture book in the form of augmented reality in 26 British forests. Parents can follow the clues with the children and track the characters in the story along a dedicated path. Eventually 5 different AR logos will be discovered. A user triggers a short movie animation by pointing the device to the logo. These paths are full of fun. Parents can enjoy playing with their children and they can take photos with them when they find a story character.
Sam Southward, director of Nexus Studios, said: "The Gruffalo Spotter is exciting for us to use AR technology to create real-life approaches in the real world. So far, most ARs are smaller and A more controlled experience, but for this project, we really want to see where our limits are.
