Electrodeless lamp companies "locked" to compete against LED won the market share of the battle

LED companies that have developed strongly in all four places in the country will encounter new green energy-saving rivals in the field of lighting – electrodeless lamps. Recently, the “China Promise Lamp Industry Alliance” led by the National High-Tech Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Promotion Center was formally established in Beijing.

This indicates that the company has begun to adopt industrial alliances with small market size and weak potential. It seeks support from the relevant government agencies in the country and supports the policy of “supporting the group”. It grabs its own competitive advantages from the hands of LED lighting and public lighting. Market share.

Electrodeless lamp company "cluster"

Ma Qiang, executive deputy director of the National High-Tech Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Promotion Center, said in an interview with the “Daily Economic News” that the first batch of electrodeless lamp companies that have joined the alliance have more than 100 companies. If the electrodeless lamp companies continue to maintain the status quo, they will each fight. The entire industry will be replaced by ceramic metal halide lamps and LEDs to become transitional products.

The new energy-saving electrodeless lamp industry that started 20 years ago has only begun commercial production until 2005. According to Wang Jinyu, director of the China Lighting Association, a member of the Alliance's guidance unit, as of 2010, there are only 200 domestic electrodeless lamp production enterprises. With a complete industrial chain, the current production and sales volume has reached more than 3 million, and Guangdong and Jiangsu have formed two. Industrial clusters.

However, the market share of electrodeless lamps as a new generation of light source industry is very low. Wang Jinlu revealed that China's current annual output of electric light sources is close to 8 billion, while the annual output of traditional fluorescent lamps exceeds 5.5 billion.

Ma Qiang believes that the entire industry does not yet have a unified national standard, the quality and reliability of the industry are uneven, an automatic Production Line has not yet been formed, the cost is higher than the traditional light source industry, and the country has no industrial support policy that restricts the growth of this sunrise industry.

In this regard, Ma Qiang said that the alliance will promote and participate in the formulation of industry standards in the future, and recommend that relevant state departments issue financial subsidies, guide the construction of independent innovation systems, and accelerate industrial development.

Competing LED to compete for market

Wang Jinxi said that compared with LEDs, electrodeless lamps have the advantages of long life, high luminous efficiency, and low cost. Although the cost is higher than traditional light sources, the input cost of using low-frequency electrodeless lamps is about 50% of LED lamps. In addition, the electrodeless lamp company has complete independent intellectual property rights, 90% of the electrodeless lamp abroad is produced by Chinese companies, while the LED chip needs a lot of foreign imports.

However, the development of the electrodeless lamp industry lags far behind that of the LED that belongs to the fourth generation of new light sources. Since 2009, the Ministry of Science and Technology launched the "Ten Cities, Ten Thousand Miles" plan, the LED industry took the lead, local governments launched LED street lighting projects, ten cities expanded to 21 cities, and China became the world's LED street lighting test site.

At present, LED has seven national industrial bases and four industrial clusters in China. There are as many as 4,000 production companies, and more than 5,000 companies have joined the LED industry alliance. In 2010, the overall size of the LED industry, from approximately 82.7 billion in 2009, grew by 45% to 120 billion.

However, LED street lights operate through a year, and currently about 40% of the damage, the light fades seriously, which is a huge contrast with the LED lighting throughout the country.

“The electrodeless lamp is particularly suitable for lighting in public areas such as municipal, industrial workshops, tunnels, and underground transportation. Our price is 1/2-1/3 cheaper than LED, and there is room for future cost reduction,” said Chengdu Times Xinyuan Lighting Appliance Co., Ltd. A manager of the company said, “But we do not have the national support policy like LED, nor the subsidy policy for energy-saving lamps, and the development is relatively slow.”

At present, government procurement is still keen on LED lights, and ordinary people still choose traditional energy-saving lamps. Wang Jinxi believes that it is hoped that the country will introduce the same policy as LED to support the electrodeless lamp industry and analyze the market share of the future lamp with 10% of the current annual output of the lamp. The annual demand will reach 800 million.

According to statistics, China's indoor and outdoor lighting, if replaced with corresponding electrodeless lamps, can form a market scale of 291.3 billion yuan, saving 1048 degrees per year.
