Domestic LED lighting demand reaches a new high LED backlight source again to force

LED products have become widely known because of their long life, low energy consumption, small size, fast response, low temperature resistance and low pollution. Their application fields are extremely broad. According to preliminary calculations, the power saved by LED lighting in China each year is equivalent to the annual power generation of the Three Gorges Power Station, and it can also reduce the emissions of 80 million tons of CO2, 650,000 tons of SO2, and 320,000 tons of NO2. This is called the history of human lighting. The revolution is not an exaggeration.

The LED lighting industry is particularly fast. According to statistics, every ten years since the birth of the 1960s, LED costs have fallen tenfold and luminous efficiency has increased tenfold. And technical progress is always beyond market expectations. In particular, in 2008, the Beijing Olympic Games gave LED a shot of stimulants. The “dream roll” on the opening ceremony was displayed on more than 4,500 square meters, which is the largest single-chip full-color LED display in the world. When the "Fantasy Five Rings" made up of 45,000 LEDs were launched, the people's enthusiasm for LED reached a new high. In recent years, with the rapid increase in luminous efficiency and low power consumption and environmental protection, LEDs have led to the gradual expansion of products in traffic signs, automobiles, outdoor signage, lighting, and LCD backlighting. With the promotion of the Chinese government, semiconductor lighting will soon become a bright industry in China. According to statistics from relevant agencies, in 2010, the global LED application market was US$50 billion; China’s LED application market was RMB 60 billion.

LED backlights are most attractive for high-efficiency side-emitting backlights. LEDs, used as LCD backlights, have long life, high luminous efficiency, no interference, and cost-effectiveness. They have been widely used in electronic watches, mobile phones, BP machines, and electronics. With the increasing miniaturization of portable electronic products on calculators and credit card machines, LED backlight sources have more advantages. Therefore, backlight source production technology will develop toward thinner, lower power consumption and uniformity.

LED is the key device of the mobile phone, an ordinary mobile phone or PHS needs to use 10 LED devices, and a color screen and mobile phone with camera function need to use about 20 LED devices. At this stage, the amount of mobile phone backlights is very large, and 3.5 billion LED chips will be used in one year. At present, China's mobile phone production is very large, and most of the LED backlight source is still imported. For domestic LED products, this is an excellent market opportunity.

From an IT point of view, this year is an important year for the development of LED backlights. LED backlights rely on mercury-free green, regional dynamic control of backlights, low-carbon energy-saving, ultra-thin streamlined appearance, and vivid color reproduction. Such advantages, greatly promoted the pace of LED replacement CCFL. All the backlight manufacturers and LED manufacturers reached a cooperative relationship, jointly proposed a plan, combined with the latest technology of large-size light guide plate. Ultra-thin, energy-saving, and high-quality LED backlights are bound to become the next strong trend for backlight development. However, LED backlight modules are not without their drawbacks. The problem of power consumption is still an important issue that LED backlight modules must overcome. Due to the use of more LEDs, in addition to the increase of power consumption, it also causes a problem of temperature increase. Therefore, cooling systems and sensors must also be added to solve this problem.
