China's electric power industry will continue to develop rapidly in 2010

“The power industry development crisis coexists. This year's government work report pointed out that 2010 is a crucial year for continuing to respond to the international financial crisis, maintaining stable and rapid economic development, and accelerating the transformation of economic development methods. Various positive changes and negative impacts are the longer ones. In addition, the power industry must make preparations for the response. It is expected that the growth rate of electricity consumption in the entire country will achieve rapid growth, and the installed capacity of the country will reach 950 million kilowatts by the end of 2010, an increase of 8.7% year-on-year.” Hao Weiping, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Electric Power, National Energy Administration Said that in 2010 China's power industry will continue to develop rapidly. He made the above remarks at the "2010 Economic Situation and Power Development Analysis and Forecasting Conference" sponsored by the China Electricity Council.

On March 27-28, the "2010 Economic Situation and Power Development Analysis and Forecasting Conference" sponsored by the China Electric Power Enterprise Federation was successfully held in Beijing, which was held for the eleventh time since 2000. Sun Yucai, secretary of the CCP’s party group and executive vice chairman, addressed the opening ceremony. The full-time vice chairman Wei Zhaofeng and the secretary-general Wang Zhixuan respectively presided over the two-day meeting. Tan Rongji, Director of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission; Liu Nanchang, Director General of the General Bureau of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; Hao Weiping, Deputy Director of the State Power Administration; Han Wenke, Director of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission; Wang Binghua, Chairman of the National Nuclear Power Technology Co., Ltd.; Zheng Baosen, deputy general manager of the company attended the meeting and made a wonderful report.

At the meeting, the reporter learned that 2009 was the most difficult year for China's economic and social development. However, in the face of adversity, China's power industry has overcome many contradictions and difficulties in the layout structure, institutional mechanisms, and market environment, and achieved rapid development. . In 2009, the country’s electricity demand gradually recovered and its growth rate exceeded that of the same period of last year; power generation installed capacity continued to maintain rapid growth, and the power transmission and transformation capabilities further improved. The nation’s investment in electricity construction reached 755.8 billion yuan, an increase of 19.93% year-on-year. The entire industry has basically achieved recovery growth, and power demand and consumption have stabilized. The country is at the initial stage of a new cycle of economic and power development. This can be seen from the relevant data, in the past 1-2 months, China's electricity consumption increased by 26% year-on-year, the cumulative average utilization of power generation equipment in the country was 728 hours, an increase of 84 hours over the same period the previous year .

It is in such a situation that participating leaders and experts have made optimistic estimates of the development of the power industry in 2010. The "Analysis and Forecast Report on China's Electricity Supply and Demand and Economic Operation Situation" issued by the China Electricity Council has also pointed out: In 2009, the recovery of electricity consumption growth has basically taken shape. At present, there are more positive factors in promoting economic growth than adverse factors. . In a comprehensive judgment, it is expected that the growth of electricity consumption in the country will be higher than in 2009, and the annual electricity consumption will reach about 397 trillion kWh. In 2010, both power supply and grid investment will be around 3,000 billion yuan, which is less than the level in 2009; In 2010, the country’s annual total infrastructure installed capacity reached 85 million kilowatts. By the end of 2010, the country’s total installed power generation capacity was around 950 million kilowatts.

However, in an excellent situation, there are still some potential issues that need attention.

“There is still a problem in China's power industry in 2009. The coal-to-electricity transport situation remains tense; shutting down small units and saving energy and reducing emissions is a long way to go. Although significant achievements have been made, the further shutdown of small thermal power will be affected by the system, interests, staff placement, and corporate development. There are more and more difficulties and contradictions in other areas; the grid's inter-provincial resources allocation capacity is still insufficient; the problem of uncoordinated development of power and power grids still exists, and is still outstanding in some areas, said Hao Weiping. Zheng Baosen, deputy general manager of the State Grid Corporation of China, also pointed out that the development of China's power industry is confronted with eight major problems such as excessive allocation of coal for energy allocation, unbalanced power supply layout, and unreasonable power supply structure. The development of the power industry is still a long way off.
