The 2017 China International Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES) took place from September 22nd to 25th, 2017, at the Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center. As a special correspondent for PChome, I was on-site to bring you the latest updates from this major event. This year’s exhibition highlighted cutting-edge innovations in consumer electronics, with Hisense making a strong impression with its new lineup of smart TVs and home solutions.
On the opening day, Hisense showcased its 2017 product range, centered around the theme of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The brand, as an official sponsor, introduced several new models that reflected the excitement of the upcoming global event. Among them were the 100-inch and 88-inch 4K laser TVs, the newly launched NU7700 series, the World Cup-designated NU8800 series, and the limited edition U9 series ULED TV in 75 inches. These products not only demonstrated Hisense's technological prowess but also captured the attention of visitors with their advanced features and design.
Laser TV technology has been gaining traction in the ultra-large screen market, and Hisense is leading the charge. With over 320 patents in laser display technology, the company has mastered core components like laser engines, positioning itself as a market leader. Their 88-inch and 100-inch 4K laser TVs feature advanced optical engines, high-resolution lenses, and precision manufacturing. Each millimeter of optical resolution delivers 186 beams, resulting in more realistic and accurate picture quality. According to Yikang data, Hisense's laser TV has captured over 50% of the market share in the 85-inch plus segment in the first eight months of the year.
Another highlight of the exhibition was the debut of the NU7700 ULED series, which brought a revolutionary sound experience to the television industry. The model featured Hisense's proprietary "Air Acoustic Field Technology," breaking the traditional trade-off between thin design and sound quality. By using dual-mode resonance ultrasound sealed cabinets, the TV allows sound to travel through air vibrations directly into the ear, delivering three times the volume of conventional bass speakers. With a low-frequency range down to 56Hz, the NU7700 offers deep, rich bass performance that rivals much larger systems.
At the NU7700 experience area, users could enjoy singing along with the Tianqi K song, showcasing how this new model can transform home entertainment into a full-fledged KTV experience. It’s clear that Hisense is redefining what a smart TV can do, blending high-quality visuals with immersive audio.
In addition to its display and audio innovations, Hisense also introduced the U9 series, its flagship model for the 2018 World Cup. This series features up to 1,000 independent backlight zones and 4096-level fine dimming technology, offering unmatched depth, detail, and clarity. The U9 series is a testament to Hisense’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of television technology.
Beyond the TVs, the exhibition also gave visitors a glimpse into Hisense Smart Home, a comprehensive smart living system. This platform has evolved from one-way control to multi-dimensional interaction, now supporting hundreds of smart devices. From adjusting curtains and lights to controlling air conditioning or washing machines, everything can be done with a single button press via the TV. Voice control is a standout feature, allowing users to command not just TVs and phones, but also video surveillance, intercom systems, background music, and even home theater setups—all with simple voice commands.
You can also interact with the “Kids†robot, which can tell stories and entertain children. The seamless integration of AI and smart home tech makes the experience both convenient and fun.
