Nokia's incoming blockchain: launching IoT services that support smart contracts

Beijing time on February 24 morning news, based on Internet of Things (IOT), data analysis and blockchain technology, Nokia launched a set of services to help the "smart city" economy and environmental sustainability.

In the emerging Internet of Things, billions of connected devices and sensors will generate massive amounts of data. Smart cities need to retrieve, process, interpret and act on real-time environmental data in a timely manner to ensure a sustainable environment for citizens. In order to make the IoT ecosystem of smart cities more effective, it is crucial to create new data monetization opportunities for IoT sensor network operators to provide real-time processing and analysis of environmental data to smart city management.

“The city must be digital in order to effectively serve its residents,” said Asad Rizvi, head of global services business development at Nokia. “In order to ensure the efficient use of urban assets and data, a shared, secure, and large-scale intelligent infrastructure is needed. We can help at this point. In addition, we can also provide services for the city, transportation, tourism and public safety. Smart city elements provide solutions that help operators generate new revenues from existing networks."

Nokia's Environmental Awareness Service (S2aaS) provides intelligent analysis by collecting environmental data from sensors connected to the Internet of Things, which operators can sell to cities and other departments. According to Nokia's vision, real-time monitoring systems based on the Internet of Things can provide timely environmental information for smart city management. For example, S2aaS will detect unconventional environmental behaviors such as illegal buildings, incineration of garbage or unidentified particles in the air.

IDG's research firm, NetworkWorld, points out that the idea behind these products is to provide a way for mobile network operators (MNOs) to use existing infrastructure, such as water towers, using Nokia mobile site equipment. Sell sensor data for living environments to cities and other sectors.

Nokia's S2aaS is powered by a blockchain with a built-in micropayment platform that supports smart contracts and enables "anonymous, private, secure microtransactions, allowing operators to monetize analytical data and generate new revenue streams."

Independent operators can choose the traditional CapEx (capital expenditure) business model, or revenue sharing service model. Nokia said it will work with customers to determine the best business model for their chosen use case.

Nokia will manage all hardware installations and configure new environmental sensors and edge gateway devices for existing network sites. S2aaS will include a complete platform for collecting and processing sensor data hosted by Microsoft Azure, AWS or Nokia Private Cloud, with the choice of Amazon IoT, Microsoft Internet of Things, or Nokia's own AVA Cognitive Services Platform. According to the company, AVA "integrates cloud-based delivery, intelligent analytics and extreme automation systems to deliver the perfect personalized service in real time."

Panasonic Feeder

What is Feeder on the placement machine? What is Feida on the placement machine? Feida is the main accessory of the placement machine. Its function is to mount the SMD patch components on the feeder, and the feeder provides components for the placement machine for patching.

In the placement machine, the feeder functions to supply the chip component SMC/SMD to the placement head in a regular pattern and order for accurate and convenient pickup, which occupies a large number and position in the placement machine. It is also an important part of choosing a placement machine and arranging the placement process. Depending on the SMC/SMD package, feeders typically have a variety of tapes, sticks, waffles, and bulk materials.

Tape feeders with the different size such as 8mm, 16mm, 24mm, 32mm, 44mm, 56mm etc.
