In order to guide the design, production and use of LED spotlights and downlights, to standardize and guide the application and development, the Alliance released the technical specifications of "LED Downlight" and "Reflective Self-ballasted LED Lighting Products" in July 2010. The technical content was adopted by the technical guide for the “Semiconductor Lighting Product Application Demonstration Project†organized by the three ministries and commissions such as the National Development and Reform Commission in 2010.
In order to further promote the standardization of semiconductor lighting products, under the coordination of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Standards Committee, the National Standards Committee decided to use the "reflective self-ballasted LED lighting products" and "LED downlights" technical specifications issued by the alliance as Basically develop national standards. On June 28, 2011, more than 30 representatives from more than 20 domestic testing organizations, research institutes and key enterprises of the Alliance organized discussions on the technical requirements, content, performance and test methods of the standards. The relevant results of the meeting were reported to the National Standards Committee. The alliance communicated with the National LED Lighting Standards Committee on the difference between the "LED Downlight" and the original LED embedded lighting standards of the National Standards Committee, and finally determined the "Performance Self-Ballasting LED Lamp Performance Requirements" and "Reflective Type". Four criteria for self-ballasted LED lamp performance test method, "LED downlight performance requirements" and "LED downlight performance test method" were established. Among them, "Performance Self-ballasted LED Lamp Performance Requirements" and "Reflective Self-ballasted LED Lamp Performance Test Method" were drafted by National Electric Light Source Quality Inspection Center (Beijing) and Alliance Secretariat - Beijing Semiconductor Lighting Technology Promotion Center The "LED Downlight Performance Requirements" and "LED Downlight Performance Test Methods" drafted by Shanghai Times Light Lighting Electrical Testing Co., Ltd. In order to standardize the development of semiconductor lighting device development and application products, the Alliance began to develop the technical specifications for semiconductor lighting products in 2007, and established the Alliance Standards Coordination Working Group to coordinate the development of standards related to semiconductor lighting.
