On October 16, Leshi Holding (LeTV) released an official statement regarding the legal case involving its chairman, Jia Yueting, and Gu Yingqiong. The Los Angeles Superior Court officially accepted Jia Yueting’s lawsuit against Gu Yingqiong on October 6, following a previous temporary injunction that was issued on September 29, 2017, which prohibited Gu from continuing to interfere with Jia’s personal life.
According to the statement, Gu Yingqiong had been accused of multiple violations, including defamation, harassment, and actions that directly threatened Jia Yueting’s rights and privacy. The lawsuit seeks general, specific, and punitive damages, as well as a court order to prevent any further harassment or interference from Gu. The statement also mentioned that Gu had been banned from contacting or tracking Jia in any form, staying within 100 yards (approximately 91 meters) of him, and refraining from publishing any personal information about him.
Leshi Holding emphasized its commitment to upholding freedom of speech and accepting public criticism, while firmly opposing any illegal actions that distort facts or engage in malicious behavior. The company reiterated its determination to protect the legal rights of Chairman Jia Yueting and itself through proper legal channels.
This development comes after a recent court ruling at the end of September, which imposed strict restrictions on Gu Yingqiong, ensuring she would not continue to infringe upon Jia’s rights. The legal battle highlights the ongoing tensions between the two parties, with LeTV standing firm in defending its chairman's reputation and personal safety.
