ST builds the latest value series microcontroller

STMicroelectronics (ST), the world's leading semiconductor supplier across multiple electronic applications, announced the latest STM32F030 value series microcontroller. With a minimum order price of only $0.32, the STM32F030 is an ideal choice for low-budget projects. It also gives designers the opportunity to use a full-featured, 32-bit microcontroller-compatible product portfolio to increase application performance and expand product lines.

The new STM32F030 value series is based on the 48MHz ARM Cortex-M0 processor core. Unlike competing products, the STM32F030 is only available at the price of an 8-bit microcontroller, but its performance and features are not affected. For example, if the core speed is not reduced, the STM32F030 also maintains a rich variety of peripherals.

The timer supports ADC synchronization, dead-time management, and motor control pulse width modulation (PWM) timing functions. The STM32F030's internal real-time clock and 5-channel direct memory access controller (DMA) are features not available in the same price range microcontroller.
