17 robot industry alliance standards will be released

On November 29th, Song Xiaogang, Executive Director and Secretary General of China Robot Industry Alliance, said in an interview with the reporter of "Daily Economic News" after the press conference of the 2016 China Robot Industry Promotion Conference, the above mentioned from December 13 to 16. The promotion of the conference will release three alliance standards, after which a total of 17 alliance standards will be released.

According to the plan of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by 2020, China should form a relatively complete industrial robot industry system; cultivate more than three leading internationally competitive enterprises, build more than five supporting industrial clusters, and have a product share of 50 in the high-end market. %the above.

According to the statistics of China's industrial robot market released by China Robot Industry Alliance in 2015, China's industrial robot market continues to grow, with annual sales ranking first in the world for the third consecutive year, and surpassing the total sales volume in the entire European market.

However, the development of China's robot industry is still in its infancy, and the standards and testing and certification systems are not perfect. The "2016 White Paper on the Development of China's Robot Industry" issued by the CCID Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "White Paper") shows that China lacks industry standards and certification standards for robots, which will inevitably lead to vicious competition at low prices.

On the one hand, enterprises lack comprehensive physical security, functional safety, information security and other indicators when designing products. When the technology is not mature, they will be listed first, resulting in uneven quality of domestic robot products. On the other hand, the industry has low barriers to entry. Finding the right product positioning will blindly invest, ignoring technology research and development, and the products will be mainly assembled, resulting in a large number of low-end production capacity. The "White Paper" also mentioned that the industry standards of China's robot industry need to be further regulated.

At a time when national standards are still brewing, the self-regulatory standards in the industry are also actively promoting. In an interview with reporters, Song Xiaogang said that the 2016 China Robot Industry Promotion Conference held in Wuhu, Anhui Province will release three alliance standards. Song Xiaogang also said that standards related to service systems, product standards, parts and components are being prepared, and there will be 17 alliance standards to be released.

When talking about the response of robot companies in the formulation process, Song Xiaogang said that enterprises with higher technical level and better development are very eager to improve the industry norms and improve product quality by formulating corresponding national standards. On the other hand, for companies that have just entered the industry, when the products fail to meet the standards, it will be difficult to enter the industry. The standards will actually raise the threshold of the industry, and some enterprises with lower competitiveness will face the crisis of eliminating them. Such companies may therefore be less interested in planning for industry standards.

Zhang Qiyi, director of the Science and Technology Committee of Shenzhen Intelligent Robot Research Institute, also said in an interview that the standardization of the robot industry and the development stage of the entire robot industry complement each other. When the whole industry develops to maturity, the standard can better match the industry.

The establishment of industry standards will help to improve the entire robot industry system and help weaker robot companies to establish benchmarking thinking. Song Xiaogang pointed out that according to the current demand for industrialization, especially the needs of enterprises, the introduction of standardized industry standards and corporate standards will, on the one hand, boost the development of enterprises with higher technology levels; Weak companies have a benchmarking standard that enhances the quality of their products within a standard framework.

Song Xiaogang also added that the 17 alliance standards mentioned above are regarded as the standards of self-discipline in the industry. In terms of safety and environmental protection, it is necessary to match some mandatory standards in the future. The mandatory standards must be national standards. In Song Xiaogang's view, after the release of some industry standards, if they fully comply with the relevant requirements at the national level, there is also the possibility of further rising to the national mandatory standards.
