Vishay Siliconix Introduces New Analog Switches

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. Announced the introduction of a single-chip, single-pull, single-throw, analog Switch for switching analog and digital signals - DG723. The new devices have the low switching noise performance needed to improve signal integrity and system accuracy, have a compact surface-mount package and low power consumption, and are able to use the low voltage in a new generation of portable designs.

The DG723 operates from 1.8V to 5.5V and is suitable for low voltage instrumentation, healthcare equipment, portable instrumentation, PDAs, and modems. It can be used in combination with ADCs, DACs, analog front-end gain control, and signal path control circuits. Typical applications for the device include programmable gain control, active filtering, sample and hold, audio/video and digital signal switching and routing, and alternative spring-loaded relays.

The DG723 is manufactured using advanced sub-micron CMOS technology with typical on-resistance as low as 2.5 Ω, typical leakage current of 1 pA, open-circuit capacitance of 8 pF, on-capacitance of 19 pF, and charge injection of 1.8 pC. The RON of the switch is always maintained at 0.9Ω at 5V, reducing insertion distortion while the device's low parasitic and charge characteristics help reduce switching noise. The typical bandwidth of the device at –3dB is 366MHz.

The DG723 includes two independent single pull single throw switches. The switch 1 is a normally open switch and the switch 2 is a normally closed switch.

The DG723 is available in Pb-free and RoHS-compliant surface-mount TDFN-8 and MSOP-8 packages. Samples are available and production quantities are now available. The lead time for larger orders is eight to ten weeks.
