Hisense 4K Laser TV New L6
On November 23, Hisense held a major product launch event in Beijing, where they officially unveiled their latest 4K laser TV models: the S6 and L6 series. This event marked a significant step forward in the company’s commitment to advancing home entertainment technology.
The new L6 series is designed for larger screen sizes, with recommended dimensions of 80, 88, and 100 inches. It features a screen brightness of 350 nits, which significantly improves its ability to handle ambient light, making it ideal for use in well-lit environments.
In terms of color performance, the L6 series achieves 116% color gamut coverage under the BT.709 standard. This enhancement brings more vivid and accurate colors to the viewer. The model also supports advanced technologies such as HDR imaging and 120Hz MEMC motion compensation, resulting in smoother video playback and better overall image quality.
One notable feature of the L6 series is the integration of audio directly into the laser projector. This was done in collaboration with Harman Kardon, who helped design the acoustic structure and fine-tune the sound quality. Additionally, the external wireless subwoofer has been reduced in size by 60% compared to previous generations and can deliver deep bass down to 40Hz.
For content, the L6 runs on the VIDAA smart TV platform, offering access to online streaming, home karaoke, fitness programs, educational content, senior learning courses, and even TV shopping. This makes it a versatile all-in-one entertainment solution.
Meanwhile, the S6 series takes a different approach, featuring a sleek metal body design. It's available in larger sizes—120 and 150 inches—with a lens life exceeding 20,000 hours, ensuring long-term reliability.
Currently, the L6 series is available in both China and the United States, while the S6 is set to launch later this year. However, the exact pricing was not disclosed at the event.
Hisense has made significant progress in mastering the full supply chain for laser TV production. Unlike LCD and OLED technologies, which face challenges in mass production, yield, cost, and energy efficiency, Hisense continues to invest heavily in laser TV innovation. The company remains committed to pushing the boundaries of this emerging display technology.
