TCL Appliances Environmental Protection Base opens

TCL invested RMB 300 million to build a new TCL Environmental Science and Technology Base in Zhongli High-tech Zone in Huizhou. This is followed by TCL's investment in the construction of home appliance dismantling bases in Tianjin, the acquisition of Ogilvy & Mather in Huizhou, and the launch of a household appliance dismantling plant in Shantou. After that, TCL will focus on creating the largest household electrical appliances in the Pearl River Delta. The industry has taken substantial steps to build a strategic deployment of the green recycling industry chain for home appliances.

It is reported that after the establishment of TCL Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. in 2010, it has developed rapidly. The original factory can no longer meet its production needs. After more than one year of preparatory work, the new base started construction. The new base covers an area of ​​130,000 square meters and possesses comprehensive functions such as industrial waste collection and transportation, testing, storage and exchange, comprehensive utilization, and disposal. The annual capacity for processing industrial waste reaches 100,000 tons. Once completed, it will become a comprehensive treatment of modern industrial waste in China. One of the demonstration bases can solve the comprehensive treatment and disposal problems of a large number of toxic and hazardous wastes generated by many electronic companies, petrochemical companies and circuit board factories.

Li Dongsheng, Chairman and CEO of TCL Group, told reporters that as a strategic emerging industry of TCL Group, the environmental protection industry is an important extension of TCL's consumer electronics R&D, production, and sales businesses, and it is the last link of TCL to build a vertically integrated industrial chain for home appliances. From the upstream products, LCD screens, to home appliances and consumer electronics, to the dismantling of waste household appliances and the use of recycled materials, TCL will really get through from “raw materials - production - sales - use - recycling - dismantling - deep processing - raw materials "The whole process of the green cycle, in the realm of home appliances to achieve a true meaning of a green recycling economy. The construction of the new base is also a positive response to strengthening the environmental protection and promoting the construction of ecological civilization at the "18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China". It is the observance and practice of "taking responsibility for the society" in the TCL Group's corporate mission statement.

It is reported that the new base has further improved the processing flow on the basis of the treatment of existing waste materials, completely opened up the recycling chain, advanced technology, a higher degree of harmless treatment, and can handle more variety, higher efficiency, and waste The proportion of materials used for recycling has increased dramatically, and clean production, energy conservation and consumption reduction have been achieved. The new base's technological processes have reached the world's advanced level.

The industry believes that from the point of view of the output value, the environmental protection industry is expected to maintain an average annual growth rate of 15%-20%, and the output value in 2015 will reach 2 trillion yuan. In the next 10 years, it will be the "golden 10 years" for the development of China's environmental protection industry. China will become one of the world's largest environmental protection industry markets.
