Recently, the exposure machine design expert Ke Yi Company, a system-controlled foreign big manufacturer, American National Instruments Taiwan Branch (NI Corporation), an image processing expert, Cognex (Cognex Corporation), semiconductor and LED process technology connoisseurs Chongwen Company, a research company specializing in the design and development of special platforms, a high-precision organization design and precision processing expert Yongyou Application Company and the Metal Center jointly established the LED exposure process equipment research and development alliance to jointly develop LED advanced process equipment.
As the LED die is relatively small, its process technology is more complex. The Ministry of Economic Affairs' Industrial Bureau can improve the self-control rate of key equipment. The Metals Center will set up a research and development alliance to collect the expertise of industry officials and research institutes and related resources to jointly develop LED advanced process equipment.
Taiwan’s LED output value reached US$2.5 billion in 2010, and the global market share reached approximately 26%. LED will become the best electronic component product in the future growth rate. Currently, the top five LED chip factories in Taiwan actively expand their production capacity through integration, so the demand for exposure equipment is greatly increased. The alliance hopes to develop LED exposure process equipment with international standards in the shortest possible time, and to create the best shortcut to replace imported equipment.
