Lithium-ion battery industry "China, Japan and South Korea" established

Under the leadership of Prof. Kang Feiyu, leader of the Energy Materials Innovation Team of the Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University, he was jointly accomplished by many experts including Tianjin University Yang Quanhong, Tsinghua University Huang Zhenghong, and Li Baohua, He Yanbing, and Lu Wei of Tsinghua University Shenzhen Graduate School. The project "Graphite and Graphene Materials for Lithium Ion Batteries" has recently won the second prize of the National Technology Invention Award.

“The demand for large-scale energy storage and the rapid development of electric vehicles, high specific energy, high power, long life, and low cost key materials and their preparation technology are important directions for the development of lithium-ion batteries.” This project is mainly completed by one person, Tsinghua Professor Li Baohua from the Shenzhen Graduate School of the University of Shenzhen introduced that the poor fast-charging performance of graphite anodes and the low electronic conductivity of cathode materials are the major bottlenecks that restrict the performance of lithium-ion batteries.

It is reported that the project team took 22 years to tackle the problem, from the earliest domestic application of natural graphite anode invention patents, breakthroughs in key technologies, to achieve the application of natural graphite and graphene, laid the lithium ion battery industry "China, Japan and South Korea" tripartite pattern. The project has been granted 35 invention patents, and the results have been industrialized and applied in Shenzhen Xiangfenghua Technology Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Ruisheng New Energy Co., Ltd., Hongna (Dongguan) New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and other units. In the past three years, it has achieved a total sales income of 1.96 billion yuan and a profit of 327 million yuan. Related products and technologies are mainly used in domestic lithium battery companies such as BYD Co., Ltd. and Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
