How do Dajiang staff and industry professionals evaluate Davic Mavic?

On September 27th, Beijing time, Dajiang officially issued the "Queen" Mavic drone in New York.

How do users rate this product? We were authorized to reprint two high-vote answers to this question. A reply from the official spokesman of DJI DJI R&D, an answer from the industry's Quantum Black Hole.

The product was finally released. The efforts of the past two years have finally reached the world. It is very exciting at this moment.

A long piece of dry goods was rushed to answer overnight, and it was posted.

Write the update:

After reading for many years and never answering any questions, this time as Mavic's design engineer, he knew more about it, so try to answer this question. The first time I wrote the answer seriously, I hope the gods pat it.

I will introduce this new model design in more detail. There is no need to say more about the benefits. I am an employee of DJI, but this article represents my personal opinion. I will be based on the reputation of the engineer and the narration of seeking truth from facts. A person's knowledge is limited. If there is a place that does not conform to the facts below, welcome to point out that I will correct it in a timely manner.

The consumer drone market is still very young. Now, as more and more newcomers enter the test market, the levels are uneven, many manufacturers themselves lack technology accumulation, and rely on exaggerated propaganda and cool videos to attract attention. , so that the unclear truth of the white user pockets but can not get the promised products in the promotion (such as bankruptcy zano, has always been bounced lily, etc.), so this time the way will also popular science knowledge of some drones, Let everyone see through some flashy propaganda and make better purchasing decisions.

DJI's Phantom series created a market for consumer drones from scratch. For the first time, consumers can buy flying drones and transform aerial photography from the unique skills of a few professional players and videographers. An event where everyone can try and enjoy the fun (everybody can see the beautiful photos taken by the user on http://skypixel.com). Over the past few years, after several iterations of technological innovations, the current phantom4 is quite mature. From ease of use, intelligence to image quality, and intelligent functions, it is absolutely an industry benchmark for consumer drones. It has been imitated and never surpassed. It is also the first consumer drone with visual perception and certain autonomous flying capabilities.

However, for the average consumer, Phantom and other drones of this level have several common problems:

Volume: Needs almost a whole backpack, usually bring out to play is OK, but traveling is troublesome, unless it is driving

Weight: It will be more tired to carry on long-distance; too heavy for women

Trouble: You need to disassemble the paddle every time you use it, paddle it, and it takes a few minutes from your backpack to hover.

Mavic solved these pain points very well. For the first time, the phantom performance and quality level drones were truly portable, with little loss of performance. I can confidently say that it will be a landmark revolutionary product in consumer drones, allowing high-quality aerial photography to reach a wider audience.

To say this is somewhat abstract, I first throw out some key parameters and then start the analysis:

The folded plane size: 83mm*83mm*198mm (close to the volume of a sports water bottle)

Weight: 734g

Mechanical 3-axis head, support for long exposure (The effect is not 3-axis electronic image stabilization ratio, which will be described later. This should be the smallest mechanical 3-axis head for mass production now.)

27-minute battery life (measured when flying at a constant speed of 25km/h in a windless environment. The hovering time can be nearly 29 minutes under ideal conditions)

Up to 7 km distance between image transmission and remote control, support up to 1080p (5km of phantom has been crowded, and this 7km plus maximum support 1080p is really invincible. Note that the United States FCC standards, open and unobstructed, no electromagnetic interference environment The domestic CE standard imposes stricter power limits, so it is 4km.)

1/2.3 inch camera sensor, 4k video, maximum stream 60Mbps (Camera sensor with same area as Phantom4)

Front view binocular vision obstacle avoidance + intelligent follow-up and other automatic flight functions (this technology is currently in the consumer drone exclusive DJI, obstacle avoidance mode up to support 10m/s flight speed, far more than other manufacturers)

Dual ultrasound + dual-purpose precision downsight positioning (Hovering accuracy flat phantom4, the effective range is slightly further)

Maximum flight speed: 65km/h (slightly lower than Phantom4's 72km/h, but much higher than other portable drones)

DJI flight control and navigation system (DJI core technology, needless to say, stable, accurate, reliable, multi-function)

8.3 inch quick-release folding paddle (it should be the only paddle on the market with quick release and folding at the same time, and no screws, we will talk about it later)

Here, people who know about drone products can already see Mavic's innovations: Nowadays, consumer drones that have achieved these performance, experience and reliability are only phantom4. The size of the drones on the market that can make Mavic so portable, performance is not at the same level with Mavic (in terms of single life, it is only 1/3-1/4 of Mavic), just like toys. It can be said that considering the combination of performance and portability two dimensions, Mavic is currently riding a dust, no opponent.
