Watkins said that Puri Optoelectronics will consider starting LEDs on silicon chips, which is expected to reduce manufacturing costs by 75% and make more efficient lighting.
To this end, Purui Optoelectronics will start a three-year plan, which will be combined with the bulbs produced by other companies.

The ultimate goal of this project is to use a CMOS-compatible process on a large-size (8-inch) silicon substrate to grow a good enough GaN film and make efficient LED devices on it.
