EMC expands to large size and gradually moves to the outdoor market

Therefore, mainland lighting factories are constantly looking for alternative materials, and EMC's technology as a package bracket has become an excellent choice for improving cost performance. Wu Sen, senior market manager of solid-state lighting for OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, said that in the past two years, the development trend of packaging forms in the lighting market is: small and medium power products will be packaged in PPA or PCT; medium and high power products have been widely used in EMC packaging; Ceramic packaged high power LEDs, as well as COB packages.

EMC's application in medium and high power products enables LED products to better achieve small size and high power. Because of its power, EMC has a mature patch process; from a structural point of view, EMC package integrity is better, and it is easier to distribute light through lens secondary optics.

In recent years, EMC packaging has been greatly developed in indoor lighting, especially in the case of medium and high power products represented by 3030. In the past two years, packaging companies such as SMI, Tiandian Optoelectronics, Hongli Zhihui, Ruifeng Optoelectronics, and Liyang have launched the main models of EMC3030.

Today, EMC's products continue to expand to larger sizes, and the range of applications has gradually expanded from medium power to higher power. At present, in addition to 3030, EMC on the market mainly has several models such as 5050 and 7070.

As the earliest enterprise to enter the EMC packaging market in China, Tiandian Optoelectronics has already implemented EMC 5050, 7070, 1A1A and even larger size to replace low-wattage COB products at an affordable price. At this year's Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, Tiandian Optoelectronics also made EMC products 25W, and brought new HD EMC products to replace the traditional COB below 3000cm, mainly for the high-end home and commercial lighting market.

Due to the advantages of materials and structures, EMC products have significant advantages such as high heat resistance, UV resistance, high integration, high current consumption, and small size. Among them, the significant improvement in anti-UV performance has enabled the expansion of EMC product applications from high-end commercial lighting to outdoor lighting. In recent years, EMC has been widely used in outdoor and alternative traditional high-power products, and has become an important member of the mid-to-high-end patch market, especially in outdoor lighting such as industrial and mining lamps, street lamps, floodlights, and high-end backlights.

Jing Yucheng, product development manager of Fujian Tiandian Photoelectric Co., Ltd. said that EMC packaging is gradually becoming an outdoor market based on indoor applications. Philips launched the Sirius module three years ago, representing the official entry of EMC packaging products into the streetlight market. After three years of fermentation, the performance of the product has been relatively stable. At present, many manufacturers have achieved mass production, which greatly reduces the cost of outdoor lighting and the initial investment of the project.
