When configuring a multi-core CPU for a PC-based controller , TwinCAT users can define which cores are visible to the operating system and which cores are 100% available for TwinCATRuntime. This allows the robot transformation to be calculated on one core and the PLC to be executed on the other core.

PC-based control technology integrates 6-axis robot motion into a standard controller

Using the TwinCAT kinematics transformation function library, various robot movements, such as two-dimensional parallel motion, three-degree-of-freedom Delat motion or Scara motion, can be programmed according to DIN 66025 or programmed using a PLC-compliant motion control function block in the PLC. At the Automatica show, the TwinCAT6 axis robot is a new product from Beckhoff.
